FAQ

CAN I GO DOG SLEDDING, WHEN I NEVER HAVE TRIED IT BEFORE?

Yes!  If you have average fitness, a positive attitude, and are prepared for cold and variable weather conditions, then you have what it takes to dog sled! Dog sledding is a fun and also physically demanding activity that requires balance, strength and perseverance. You have to help the dogs by braking the sled, or kicking and pushing the sled. If you don’t think you can manage this, you could be a passenger in the sled.  Before we start out, your guide will give a safety briefing and instructions on how to prepare and control the sled. During the trip your team will be safely following the guide.

HOW SHOULD WE BEHAVE TOWARDS THE DOGS?

The dogs are all different individuals and like us humans, they have all their own personality that we have to respect. We must always behave in a calm way when we are around dogs. We don’t shout out to the dogs while we are mushing, because the dogs know their job, and always do their best. In the dog yard some of the dogs are modest and want to be alone in their kennel, others are extremely social and want a lot of attention.
